How Do I Submit?

Go to the “Submit” tab at the top and I’ll be happy to walk you through from there. Generally, you will fill out a form online that will contain what you’d like done and allow you to send your content to me. I’ll have a look and email you back an invoice with a due/complete date. Once it’s done and the invoice is paid, you’ll get your content back refreshed and ready for the album!

How Long Will This Take!?

Photos: Generally, one week.

Video: Depending on the options selected and when I get the footage, anywhere from a week to two weeks and I’ll specify on your invoice.

If I can get it done sooner, and you’ve paid your invoice in full I’ll send it back as soon as it’s done. Sets of less than 500 images or smaller video weddings I can get back in half of the week estimate but that depends on workload.

What If I Need It Sooner?

Generally if you specify a need such as you have an appointment to meet a couple to present them with your work and didn’t get this to me with a full week to edit, I’ll attempt to help you out. I’m midwestern so I will do what I can to get it out sooner. Most photographers are generally okay on time but we all make mistakes and if I have time, I’ll make it so.

It’s more common than you think. There are a lot of options out there and I’ve heard good and bad. It all depends on how connected your are with your editor… I’ll be your editor… every time. When you send me an edit, it starts and ends with me. That’s a plus for you!

I’ll learn your style and make the images just like you would. I’ll start by taking your preset or building one for you based on your style and edit from there.

What to know: It’ll take a few rounds the first time, also normal. I’ll send you back what I think is close to your style and you let me know what needs to change, I’ll change it and we’ll try again on the same project

I’ve Never Had Someone Else Edit For Me!

Of course not! I edit to your style and keep as true as possible! On my own images, what you’ll see on this site as examples, are edits of my own personal style (which changes frequently I’ve found). Use them as markers for the difference the edits can make to your images!

I Saw The Examples, Do You Edit Everything Like That!?

I wish it weren’t that way. Google requires users to create an account to be able to submit and upload files, even to my account and yours. I’ve contacted Google Support and they say that’s the way it is. If you want a drop box folder to upload to, email me and I’ll get one setup for you as soon as I can. I’m sorry for this. Though, some of you may have had to download apps and create accounts for past services so I’m confident I’m still saving steps along the way!

Why Do I Need To Make A Google Account To Submit?

I use Adobe products. En Masse images will be edited in Lighroom CC; if you are partial to the previous version I can edit in that as well but as Mac OS Catalina doesn’t support Lightroom 5 and 6 (generally) I will not be accepting jobs for versions of Lightroom 6 and prior. For individual edits, I’ll use Photoshop CC. Video is Premiere Pro CC. I’ll use After Effects CC as needed if I feel it would benefit the project in specific parts.

What Software Do You Use?

We can all use a little more time in the day. I’ve been told by clients that they just despise editing, that may not be the case for you but hear me out. My secret weapon is that I didn’t take the photos or video. Why is that good? It’s good because it allows me to objectively cull and edit images to a style. I’ll usually be faster than you simply because you remember the moment of the image and over-cull or second guess a choice or even go as far as changing your style for certain images… that can bite you a bit later for an album. I genuinely love editing and that’s why I’m here. I want to make your life easier so you have more time to do what you love, capturing moments and memories.

How would you rather spend the five hours editing a wedding? Could you have done a portrait session? Built another album? Spent time with family? All true. For photographers with many clients it’s nice to be able to overlap jobs without spending the time editing and know it’s still getting done.

Why Should I Let You Edit For Me?

Yes! If you don’t like the edit you get back or you have additional edits, let me know (mitch@adapatedimagery.com) and I will make the change for free as long as you let me know within a week of completion that there is an issue. I’m human and getting to learn a style takes a round or two so don’t be worried if we still need to tweak as we go.

Is It Risk-Free?

At this time, no. The fees that are taken by the invoice software are low enough I’m okay eating that on a $5 or $10 order. I’ll let you know if this changes.

Is There A Minimum?

I’m happy to do other edits! I often do portrait shoots or family outing shoots for clients. I will even happily clean up a panorama or landscape photo to make sure you’re putting your best foot forward without taking the time that would require!

What If It’s Not A Wedding?

I plan on doing themed % off periods depending on holidays or times I see greater need. Often I’ll take a percent off of culling during the highest part of wedding season because that seems to be one of the biggest hurdles for clients during that time as an incentive to make sure you don’t need to put off editing even if you want to do the color yourself.
